Soot, Glass, Steel.

 

All below the work, follows Leighton-Boyce’s interest in social-history and the politics of labour and a body of durational works which explore the materiality of drawing in a three-dimensional sculptural expression. The work emphasises bodily and spatial concerns through both its production and viewing experience. Through a simultaneous action of accumulation and erasure the interstitial characteristics of the sooted surface cause the supporting material to withdraw, affecting environmental and sensory relations.
