Articulations, 2022 (exhibition)
|
Articulations ~ was a solo exhibition commissioned and made through an Art in Manufacturing residency at Darwen Terracotta and Faience and the National Festival of Making. During the residency I was reflecting on working slowly and thoughtfully within a highly productive factory setting, and developing works around concepts of care, disability, and unproductivity through processes of supporting, running, pressing, settling, slipping, and yielding. The curved telescopic plaster forms, consider the articulations and gestures of my body with the factory, each glide, interconnect and extend beyond the body as a form of architectural prothesis. Materials: Plaster, shods (wooden boards), architectural faience, wax paper, polystyrene, photographic print, plaster casting trollies, digital print, steel trollies, enamelled steel, video.
