Material/media: Frosted glass, soot.

Left Handling is a development of a series of works in which I use a candle and its residue – soot – as my tools. Within these ‘sooted’ works, materials and surfaces lean or rest upon each other for support. The work was first exhibited at Each Toward the Other, a three person show exploring spatial and visual degrees of freedom by leaning, handing, dwelling, pinning, resting and sitting, with Nicola Ellis and Joe Hancock at Bury Sculpture Centre.
