Notes from meanwhile [work in progress] 2023 – ongoing

A series of vignettes exploring, amongst other things, the thoughts of a piece of chewing gum, the feeling of slipping away, being a body of water, and a conversation with a hip.

[excerpt] ‘You lie there alive and capable,

waiting to meet my flesh and for our biology’s to entwine.

My cells

receptive,

dance with the renewed energy of your infusion and the marrow in my bones ache in response.

From my bed I gaze out of the window.

We talk, I sleep, I dream, I hallucinate.

I weave and will my body to enmesh with cells returning to me from parts of the world I have never been to, returning to me biologically and genetically transformed

with the potential for us to remain here for longer.
